There are three main categories of plywood panel sizes: internationally standard, domestic conventional and custom special sizes. The most widely exported specification is 1220×2440mm (4×8ft), which fits container loading perfectly. 1250×2500mm is popular for European markets, while 915×1830mm small sheets are commonly used for domestic construction and decoration. Special sizes such as extended 1220×3050mm sheets and square 1525×1525mm panels are also available, and small cut-to-size boards can be customized on demand.

Plywood comes in various thicknesses with an odd number of veneer layers. Thin sheets of 3mm and 5mm are mainly used for back panels and veneer surfaces; 9mm and 12mm boards suit cabinet linings and light packaging; 15mm and 18mm are the mainstream thicknesses for furniture bodies and construction formwork. Thicker panels from 21mm to 30mm apply to load-bearing countertops, heavy-duty formwork and marine plywood. Inch equivalents are often listed for overseas buyers’ reference.

Preferred sizes vary by application. Furniture-grade poplar, birch and okoume plywood mostly adopts 1220×2440mm with thickness ranging from 3mm to 18mm. Film faced construction formwork is mainly supplied in 12mm, 15mm and 18mm standard sheets. 5–12mm thin boards and 915×1830mm small panels are widely used for wooden cases and pallets. Marine plywood also features 1525mm square panels besides standard sheets. Custom length, width and thickness are acceptable for all types upon request.
