For the super high-rise laboratory project in Zhangjiang Science City, Shanghai, 18mm thick phenolic resin modified birch plywood is adopted as the base material for building fire compartment partition walls.

This modified plywood undergoes special flame-retardant and high-temperature resistant treatment, with a fire resistance duration of up to 98 minutes. Its fire performance is over 40% higher than traditional gypsum boards and ordinary wood boards, fully complying with strict fire safety codes for super high-rise public buildings.

Compared with conventional partition wall materials, plywood partitions reduce the overall weight by 35%, effectively lowering the load on the main building structure and enhancing structural safety. The panels also feature high toughness and outstanding sound insulation. Integrating multiple merits including fire resistance, load-bearing capacity, sound insulation and light weight, they are suitable for partition and divider projects of high-end public buildings such as office towers, laboratories and exhibition halls.
